Cantigny Engagement Session | Chicagoland Wedding Photographer | Laura and Patrick

I love getting to do sessions at Cantigny. I know the park grounds like the back of my hand, and yet every season there's something fresh and new at the park. With each couple, the garden takes on a slightly different persona, allowing each couple to share their love and story in a unique way, even if the location is popular for photography!
Laura and Patrick are a sweet, steady couple that find joy in each other. As we explored the current blooms at Cantigny, we stopped in for quiet moments in the rose garden, under the sprawling trees, and around the little lake by the mansion. It was a lovely day!

Laura was particularly excited to get a few photos of her ring surrounded in the roses! We found these delicate, speckled beauties along the walkway towards the end of our session. There were perfect!

Some of my favorite pictures from this session are from under the big oak tree. The wide landscape shot would make for such a beautiful canvas! I've found that landscape-style shots can convey even more emotion than the vertical ones we see so often on social media. Because they are more cinematic, it's like they are the key pieces to telling a story through a session. I always aim to provide a healthy mix of both throughout every session!
